EMPLOYMENT TYPE :     Full-Time (50+ hours weekly)


SUMMARY:  The directional drill operator/locator is responsible for operating a horizontal directional drill in accordance with blue prints and designated plans. Must also have knowledge of utility locating. Persons applying for this position must have prior underground experience.


QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Knowledge and ability to operate and perform small maintenance on various machinery related to directional drilling.
  2. Must have a driver’s license (CDL preferred, but not required) and reliable transportation.
  3. Previous experience operating a directional drill.
  4. Previous experience locating.
  5. Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.

  1. Knowledge safety procedures on a construction site.
  2. Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
  3. Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  4. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  6. Ability to listen to and follow verbal and written directions.
  7. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  8. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  9. Understands technical operating, service or repair manuals.
  10. Signal directions or warnings to coworkers.
  11. Use hand or power tools.
  12. Possess general knowledge of construction practices.

 


RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Operates horizontal directional drill in accordance with blueprints and designated plans.
  2. Maintains company equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines.
  3. Assists with construction clean-up as necessary.
  4. Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather.

 


COMPENSATION :

A CDL or Chauffeur's license is a PLUS and reflected in your hourly compensation.

Wage: Based on experience with bonuses/raises based on performance.
